TESOL 2011

Well it was a very busy TESOL this year, we sold lots of books, met lots of people and still found time to get out and see a bit of New Orleans too! Although as a company we have been attending TESOL for many years this was mine and Laura’s first time at the conference. We met lots of our authors, people keen to buy our books and some new friends!

Although it was a busy conference, we managed to do some sight-seeing too. We don’t have any say in where these conferences are held but it’s great to get to go somewhere as interesting as New Orleans. The weather was beautifully warm and we spent some time basking in the sunshine in Jackson Square.

We also made sure to sample the local delicacies: gumbo, jambalaya, po’ boys, crawfish, beignets and pralines as well as joining in the local festivities. We were there for the St Patrick’s Day parade which has to be seen to be believed. Having very little to do with St Patrick or Ireland it just seems to be an excuse for a party!

All in all, it was a great trip: a successful conference and a fantastic city!
