At Multilingual Matters we have always taken pride in our books, be they textbooks, research monographs, edited volumes or guides for parents and teachers. However, since our ground breaking Encyclopedia of Bilingualism and Bilingual Education (1998), we have fallen a little behind in the trend of publishing handbooks and encyclopedia.
Fortunately, the proliferation of handbooks in applied linguistics has continued, to the point where we now feel that the market is ripe for us to catch up in both fields of publishing with one single work:
The Multilingual Matters Encyclopedia of Handbooks in Applied Linguistics
Edited by: Professor Aprile Poisson.
This book, published in 24 hardback volumes, will document, analyse, contextualise and reflect on all of the handbooks and major works in applied linguistics that have been published in the past few years, and provide an easy reference for scholars in applied linguistics.
Publication date 1st April 2012
